As the world comes together to celebrate World Milk Day, Apical is taking significant steps to support farmers and contribute to the community’s well-being. As the demand for milk and dairy products continues to rise, Apical is taking action through its animal nutrition product line, Optymax, to empower farmers by enhancing milk yields and ensuring consistent productivity. This strategic move enables farmers to stay competitive in today’s flourishing dairy market. Additionally, Apical, in collaboration with the Tanoto Foundation, is also dedicated to improving community welfare by addressing childhood stunting.
Milk and dairy products have become essential components of global diets, providing protein, calcium, vitamins, and minerals. Projections indicate that the milk market is poised to grow at an annual compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.91% from 2023 to 2028. The challenge ahead involves meeting this escalating demand while maintaining sustainability and productivity in the dairy sector.
“Feed fats play a crucial role in animal nutrition, with varying requirements based on species and digestive systems. The Optymax range, consisting of three distinct product series tailored for ruminants, monogastric animals, and poultry, is formulated to optimise milk yield and ensure consistent productivity. These products, which encompass the Palmatic Series, Tryglyceride Series, and Calcium Salt Series, are sourced sustainably from fatty acids and their derivatives. They are designed to improve milk yield and productivity, benefiting both livestock and farmers,” explained Ashish Anant, Senior Business Manager (Animal Nutrition) at Apical.
Through a focus on animal nutrition and optimised diets, farmers can unlock their livestock’s full potential, bolster overall resilience, and ensure optimal health. This not only enhances the financial viability of farms but also contributes to the sustainable development of the dairy industry as a whole.
Addressing Childhood Stunting: Paving the Way to Healthier Communities
Recognising the critical role of proper nutrition in combating stunting among children, in line with World Milk Day, Apical alongside Tanoto Foundation have joined forces to reduce the prevalence of stunting among children in Indonesia by bridging the nutritional gap and promoting healthy growth.
Agus Wiastono, CSR Manager for Apical shared “Every child deserve the opportunity to grow, thrive and reach their full potential. Through our unwavering commitment to the community, we strive to break the cycle of stunting by providing more than just milk – we offer nourishment and education. We are empowering a generation to overcome stunting while creating a healthier future of all.”
With the support of community clinics and various schools, Apical has identified children residing around its operational areas aged between 2 – 5 years old who are in need of milk enriched with vital nutrients. A total of 19,850 milk cartons are being supplied to communities in need. Each child will be given the adequate amount of milk throughout a period of time, as managed and determined by the community clinics.
In extension to this, as a lead up to World Milk Day and part of its community initiative, Apical visited numerous families to raise awareness about the importance of a balanced nutrition and the role milk plays in supporting a child’s growth. Across Apical’s offices, the goodness of milk was also celebrated as 4,230 milk package were distributed to employees.
