Rizhao may soon be a prosperous and vibrant city, and RGE (Royal Golden Eagle)<\/a> is very honoured to play a key role in its transformation. Thanks to the contributions made by its Founder and Chairman Sukanto Tanoto and its business group Pacific Oil & Gas<\/a>, the city is poised to make great strides on\u00a0the socio-cultural, economic and environmental fronts.<\/p>\n

More library books for Rizhao children<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sukanto Tanoto tours the RMB 30 million-dollar Rizhao Jianghe Library, and later donates 200,000 children\u2019s books<\/p><\/div>\n

RGE Chairman Sukanto Tanoto<\/a> recently donated 200,000 children\u2019s books to a public library in Rizhao, China.<\/p>\n

This RMB 5 million (USD 760,000) gift followed a RMB 30 million (USD 4.5 million) donation he made in May 2010 for the library\u2019s construction. The latter was the largest single donation Rizhao has received.<\/p>\n

Mr Tanoto\u2019s toured the public library on May 29, and felt\u00a0the children\u2019s section could be better stocked to meet patrons\u2019 demands. He later made a donation of 200,000 books on June 1, commemorating International Children\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

The library officially opened on Dec 26, 2015, serving more than 7,900 patrons daily. Over 1.07 million have visited the library to-date. Having not been able to finish school himself, Mr Tanoto has for decades emphasised the importance of education and continuous learning through his business leadership and philanthropic activities.<\/p>\n

Throwback May 2010: Sukanto Tanoto made a RMB 30 million donation for the construction of the library. Mr Tanoto is a firm believer in lifelong learning, and building communities and capacities in the areas of his business operations. The library opened in Dec 2015, and is patronised by thousands daily.<\/p><\/div>\n
