It is also engaged in the refining, processing and trading of palm oil for both domestic use and international export. Its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apicalgroup.com\/operations\">operations<\/a> are located in Indonesia and China, and include four refineries, one biodiesel plant, one fatty acid splitting plant and a kernel crushing plant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The numerous progress and achievements made in 2016 include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Conducted Priority Supplier Engagement Program (PSEP) visits and Shared Value Workshop to actively cascade the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sustainability.apicalgroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/apical-sustainability-policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apical Sustainability Policy<\/a> to suppliers in Sumatra<\/li>\n<li>Developed a practical guide on \u201cPrevention, early detection and control of open-burning in oil palm plantations\u201d and published on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sustainability.apicalgroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apical Sustainability Dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Zero incident involving the rights of the local people and indigenous peoples took place in 2016<\/li>\n<li>Conducted workshops to equip suppliers with the knowledge to gain competitive edge in meeting global requirements of sustainable palm oil<\/li>\n<li>Developed Apical Grievance Procedure to provide guidelines for the transparent and accountable handling of grievances related to the sustainability practices within supply chain<\/li>\n<li>Continued progress to realise 100% traceability to supplying mills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rgei-2.hellopomelo.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Apical_Susty_3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7544\" src=\"https:\/\/rgei-2.hellopomelo.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Apical_Susty_3.jpg\" alt=\"Apical Sustainability Report 2016\" width=\"971\" height=\"435\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;This year\u2019s report presents our continued commitment and seeks to transparently disclose our sustainability performance and achievements, the challenges we still face and our ongoing efforts to address them,&#8221; said Dato&#8217; Yeo How, President of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apicalgroup.com\/sukanto-tanoto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apical Group<\/a>. &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.inside-rge.com\/improving-sustainability-traceability-apical-engages-suppliers-new-partners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sustainability<\/a> is a long-term commitment for Apical. It is also a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rspo.org\/about\">Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iscc-system.org\/about\/objectives\/\">International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC)<\/a>. It is now working towards a comprehensive internal Sustainability Assurance System (SAS).
