Held at Hotel Pangeran, Riau, the 21 March 2019 event reaffirms the company\u2019s commitment as a preferred partner of palm oil smallholders, distributing IDR 4.3 Billion (over USD 300,000) from 2017 sales to representatives from 72 palm oil smallholder cooperatives from Riau and Jambi. The cooperatives represent a combined total of 30,000 smallholders.<\/p>\n<p>Guest-of-honour Riau Governor H. Syamsuar <a href=\"https:\/\/ekbis.sindonews.com\/read\/1388814\/34\/asian-agri-bagikan-premi-penjualan-minyak-sawit-bersertifikasi-1553166018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">expressed gratitude<\/a> to the company for this initiative, saying, \u201cThe Riau Provincial Government would like to thank Asian Agri for empowering farmers in implementing sustainable palm oil management practices, contributing to the their longer-term welfare.\u201d Adding on, he shared hope that the partnership between the company and smallholders will continue to serve as an example to inspire the palm oil industry to remain competitive and sustainability-focused.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en-gb\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"in\">Semangat Pagi Negeri Lancang Kuning!<br \/>\nHari ini disaksikan oleh Gubernur Riau, Drs. It serves as a reward for partnered smallholders\u2019 observing the best plantation management practices, and recognises and encourages efforts in maintaining certification.<\/p>\n<p>The share of profits from the premium sharing will be used for a variety of community development and renewal projects as well as reinjected into sustainable palm oil plantation management. Previous premium sharing events were held <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inside-rge.com\/premium-sharing-smallholders-palmoil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">early 2016<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inside-rge.com\/Asian_Agri_Distributes_IDR_2_6_Billion_to_29_000_Smallholders_at_Premium_Sharing_Ceremony\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">late 2016<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inside-rge.com\/sustainable-operations\/asian-agri-distributes-idr-3-billion-to-30000-smallholders-at-premium-sharing-ceremony\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The contributions of smallholders to sustainable palm oil production have gone a long way in establishing Asian Agri as an industry leader and also supporting the nation\u2019s drive towards sustainable palm oil.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>100% ISPO Certified Operations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Asian Agri also recently attained a major milestone in its support of Indonesia\u2019s\u00a0 sustainable palm oil drive, having achieved 100% ISPO certification for all of its business units. Two of its subsidiaries received their ISPO certificates at the 27 March 2019 International Conference and Expo on Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ICE-ISPO). Bernard Riedo, Director of Asian Agri\u2019s Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations, said, \u201cWe are fully committed to sustainable palm oil management, by consistently applying best practices in all operational activities across our plantations and factories. The same commitment also apply to the company&#8217;s partner smallholders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/embed\/feed\/update\/urn:li:share:6516565520815353856\" width=\"504\" height=\"535\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) programme is a policy led by the Ministry of Agriculture, aimed at improving the global competitiveness of Indonesian palm oil, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and safeguarding the environment.<\/p>\n<p>The palm oil producer continues to reach new heights through the alignment of standards with national and international certification bodies, as well as the continuous collaboration with smallholders.
