As part of ongoing global and regional efforts to demonstrate viscose production as clean, circular, renewable and sustainable, Sateri and Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) ramped up efforts in engaging its brand partners, industry professionals, NGOs, government officials, technological companies, and many other stakeholders in recent weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In one highlight, both business groups were present at the 2019 Textile Sustainability Conference in Vancouver on 15-18 October, an event which followed RGE’s announcement of its US$200 million investment<\/a> to drive fast and linear fashion to becoming more circular and sustainable. Sateri and APR had booths at the event, which was attended by more than 800 industry experts and sought to champion sustainability within the textile industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sateri Hosts Brand Partners<\/h2>\n

Sateri<\/a> hosted 12 brand partners on a three-day visit to the conservation site and operations of its strategic supply partner, APRIL Group<\/a>, in Riau, Indonesia. The visit not only provided the visitors a unique immersive experience of an integrated viscose value chain (from the seedlings in R&D lab to the nursery, to renewable<\/span><\/span> plantations and eventually to dissolving pulp mill), but also allowed Sateri to better understand its partners\u2019 needs and interests. In line with one pillar of RGE’s 5C’s principle, that is creating value for the Customer, such engagements and exchanges will go a long way to improving Sateri’s products.<\/p>\n

APR: Creating Value for Country and Customers<\/h2>\n

On 16 October, APR<\/a> held a gala dinner to launch its Everything Indonesia campaign. The campaign seeks to champion a viscose supply chain that is entirely within Indonesia – from plantation to fashion. The campaign is a dynamic amalgamation of state-of-the-art technologies, competitive advantage, multi-stakeholder collaboration and committed environmental stewardship, which collectively elevates Indonesia’s profile as a global textile hub.<\/p>\n
