Our business

At the heart of the bioeconomy

RGE manages a group of world-class companies in the resource-based manufacturing and energy industries. Our operations occupy critical positions in the value chain, delivering resources and quality end-products to businesses and millions of people around the world. Each business group operates independently, with its own board of directors and management team responsible for overseeing operations and strategy.

For RGE, sustainability means the responsible management of natural resources; striving for positive impacts on natural ecosystems and people; driving resource efficiency through the elimination of waste in our products and processes; being part of the solution to global challenges such as climate change and nature and biodiversity loss; and working with our stakeholders for an inclusive and equitable value chain to improve lives.

Asian Agri is one of the largest palm oil producers in the world

If you walk into any supermarket, you will find more than half of the items on the shelves with palm oil ingredients in them.

Asian Agri, one of the largest palm oil producers in the world, produces crude palm oil that goes into many food and personal care products and fuel.

In addition to our oil palm plantations spanning 100,000 hectares in Sumatra, we also partner with 30,000 smallholders who manage a total of 100,000 hectares of plantation, to safeguard their livelihoods and home.

Our mills are certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC). 11 of our mills are powered by biogas power plants that convert leftover organic material into renewable energy. Our R&D Centre employs more than 50 researchers and 350 research technicians specialising in agronomy, soil, pests, diseases, breeding and biotechnology to increase yield in a sustainable manner.

Natural Gas, Renewable Energy

Pacific Energy develops, builds, and operates projects that meets current and future demands for cleaner energy

Pacific Energy develops, builds, and operates projects that meets current and future demands for cleaner energy.

Through Pacific Canbriam Energy, we conduct the exploration and production of natural gas in the Montney region of Northeastern British Columbia (BC).

Currently in construction phase, Woodfibre LNG will be the world’ s first net zero LNG export facility. Net zero from construction to operations, it will supply natural gas to liquefied natural gas terminals and combined cycle gas turbine power plants in Asia.

As a large amount of water is used during the process of gas-drilling, Pacific Canbriam Energy has developed a water management system which is industry-leading, allowing us to re-use up to 99% of our produced water.

Within RGE’s energy business, newly established Global Clean Energy has ventured into renewable energy to address the pressing need for sustainable energy solutions.

In 2025, together with joint venture partner TotalEnergies, we were awarded Conditional Licence by the Energy Market Authority of Singapore to deliver up to 1 GW of solar energy from Indonesia to Singapore.
